MCPD: Windows Developer 지원자는 먼저 MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Windows Applications 인증 요건(두 가지 시험)을 갖추어야 합니다. 이 인증을 취득한 후 한 가지 시험을 추가로 통과하면 MCPD: Windows Developer를 취득할 수 있습니다.
MCAD(Microsoft Certified Application Developer)인 경우에는 한 가지 업그레이드 시험만 통과하면 MCPD: Web Developer 인증으로 업그레이드할 수 있습니다. 업그레이드 시험에 응시하려는 경우에는 MCTS 필수 자격 증명을 취득하지 않아도 됩니다.
